TOPIC:
Section GG: Functional Abilities and Goals
Long an area of discussion by Assessment Coordinators, this session will discuss the terms, definitions, time frames and coding of Section GG of the Resident Assessment Instrument. Â Used for care planning, survey, payment categorization, and quality metrics, accurate coding of the resident's functional status is imperative. Â However, the application of these metrics may be interpreted as in the 'eye of the beholder', therefore guidance in the application of the metrics is beneficial. Â The intent of this session is to assist in clarifying how the definitions and terms are to be applied and provide examples of misapplication and the outcomes.
