About the speaker:

Brian D. Stever BSN RN, is a bachelor’s prepared Registered Nurse. He received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and nursing training from

Messiah College in Mechanicsburg, PA.  He has been involved in the Resident Assessment Instrument process for over 25 years in a wide range of areas in Long Term Care. His focus has been in developing and educating staff on the correct capture of services provided and ensuring that residents receive the care they deserve.  He has been involved in work groups with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on the original Resident Assessment Protocols, RAPs. He also worked with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on the development of the Pennsylvania Case Mix system for MDS 3.0.

He was an educator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services where he educated groups on the Quality Measures process as well as the

original Nursing Home Compare website. He has been a speaker at various State and National Association conferences educating on the MDS process,

quality initiatives and electronic documentation practices.

He was the Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators, PANAC, and currently serves on

the board. He has recently been elected to the position of Vice-President of the Board of Directors once more.  He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Keystone Health Information Exchange, KeyHIE, and an associate member of LeadingAge PA. He was the Co-Chair of the Pennsylvania Patient and Provider network’s Communication Committee and is a member of LeadingAge’s Center for Aging Services Technologies, American Nurse Informatics Association and American Association of Post-Acute Care Nursing.

He has worked with CRISP, Chesapeake Regional Information Systems for our Patients, and DHIN, Delaware Health information Network, to create a Health Information Exchange in Maryland and Delaware, respectively.
