RSS FeedDPW Publishes Notice of 2009-10 and 2010-11 Rates, Proposed Payment Methodology Changes
The Department of Public Welfare published the following (long-awaited!) items of interest to nursing facilities in the June 26, 2010 Pennsylvania Bulletin.

Both Notices states that the rates can be found at: www.dpw.state.pa.us/PartnersProviders/MedicalAssistance/DoingBusiness/LTCCaseMixInfo/ and at local county assistance offices throughout this Commonwealth or by contacting Yvette Sanchez-Roberts, Department of Public Welfare, Office of Long-Term Living at (717) 705-3705.
The Department invites and will consider for any subsequent Notice revisions public comments made within 30 days of these Notices. Comments on the amendments to the State Plan should be directed to Department of Public Welfare/Department of Aging, Office of Long-Term Living, Bureau of Policy and Strategic Planning, Forum Place, 5th Floor, 555 Walnut Street, Attention: Yvette Sanchez-Roberts, Harrisburg, PA 17101-1919.
In addition, the Department has published Notice of changes to amend the Medicaid State Plan to change its method of paying nursing facilities. The notice is at http://www.pabulletin.com/secure/data/vol40/40-26/1179.html and states that the department plans changes that will:
- Use the RUG III – 5.12 – 44 grouper
- Use the most recent resident assessment
- Phase in the grouper and the assessment.
