Skilled Nursing Facilities/Long-Term Care Open Door Forum
The SNF Open Door Forum discussion held today centered around the MDS 3.0, educational opportunities and the SNFABN.
Chapters 2 and 4 of the MDS 3.0 RAI Manual are scheduled to be released next week. Chapter 2 is the chapter related to the time frames of MDS's and when they are to be opened. There will also be an additional area of the website opened for technical issues.
There are two upcoming educational opportunities for the MDS 3.0. One is March 15-19 held in Baltimore Maryland. This one is for State RAI coordinators, State Medicaid staff and DOH Surveyors. The other opportunity is April 13-15 again held in Baltimore Maryland. This one is a "Train the Trainer" designed for groups that will be educating their associations. PANAC has asked to be involved in this educational opportunity. For those that do not have the opportunity to participate in either one of these educations they will be available via video feed and in print shortly after the second education in April.
The SNFABN revision is scheduled for release in March 2010. This revision will replace all other types of ABN's so stay informed. A release date will be sent out closer to its inception.
The next scheduled Open Door Forum is on March 11, 2010 from 2PM to 3PM.
